(Newser) – The NRA hinted as much before its meeting with Joe Biden and confirmed it afterward: It says the White House is going too far in its push to tighten gun laws, reports Fox News. Part of the group's statement after the 45-minute session at the White House:

  • "We were disappointed with how little this meeting had to do with keeping our children safe and how much it had to do with an agenda to attack the Second Amendment. While claiming that no policy proposals would be 'prejudged,' this task force spent most of its time on proposed restrictions on lawful firearms owners—honest, taxpaying, hardworking Americans."

Biden, meanwhile, will give his recommendations to the president early next week, and he mentioned universal background checks and limits on high-capacity magazines as among the ideas likely to make the list. He did not, however, mention reinstating the ban on assault weapons that expired in 2004, notes USA Today. The NRA now promises to take the fight for its own recommendations to Congress, though the White House has suggested it might use an executive order to put new rules in place.

the california shooter may have given a reason for the newtown massacre. the anti bully lobby is providing feelings of empowerment to the victims with deadly consequences. and our illustreous president want to use it to infringe on the gun rights of 300 million people
