(Newser) – Disney Studios promised a new Star Wars film when it bought Lucasfilm last year, and it's apparently serious about making a blockbuster: The Wrap reports that Disney has lined up none other than JJ Abrams to direct. (The ArtsBeat blog of the New York Times thinks the scoop is legit and says an announcement is expected before day's end.) Entertainment Weekly notes that Abrams told EW in November that while he loved the franchise, he was too busy to take on the seventh movie. It's due out in 2015. The creator of Lost and Alias is currently finishing up the latest Star Trek film.
