(Newser) – Ben Affleck's Argo is heading into the Oscars with huge momentum, after taking the top prize at last night's Screen Actors Guild Awards. The thriller about a 1980 CIA plan to rescue hostages in Iran took the Best Ensemble prize, adding to prizes including Best Drama and Best Director at the Golden Globes, the Los Angeles Times reports. "To me this has nothing to do with me, it has to do with the incredible people who were in this movie," said Affleck, who wasn't even nominated by the Academy for Best Director.

Other SAG winners included lead-acting honors for Jennifer Lawrence for her role in the romance Silver Linings Playbook and Daniel Day-Lewis for his starring role in Lincoln, CBS reports. On the television side, Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin won best lead roles in a comedy series for 30 Rock, which has its series finale Thursday night. Modern Family won best overall cast in a TV comedy show for the third year in a row, while the TV drama lead-acting honors went to Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston and Homeland's Claire Danes.
