(Newser) – Twitter's iOS video-sharing app has some hardcore explaining to do: This weekend, Vine feeds featured an "editor's pick" that turned out to be hardcore porn, TechCrunch reports. The video managed to make its way to the top of Vine's home feed, and Twitter users fumed, VentureBeat notes: "You must be crazy! Editor’s pick?!?" tweeted one. The video has now been taken down, and Twitter is red-faced and apologizing, Mashable reports. The social network blamed "a human error" for the video. "Upon realizing this mistake, we removed the video immediately."

But it's not the only porn available on Vine, leading ZDNet to wonder whether we're seeing "the new 'micro-porn' service." Within days of the app's appearance, it carried porn, writes Eileen Brown. On the other hand, Vine does let users flag inappropriate content, and enough flags can lead to an account's termination; and after all, "if you search hard enough, you can find images of nudity and pornography on most image upload sites."

A screen grab from the app's website.   (vine.co)
