What a way to end it: A Florida woman fatally shot the father of her three children after he had clung to the hood of her car for 10 miles, the Sun-Sentinel reports. Nikki McNeil, 33, reportedly got into a dispute with her ex, 36-year-old Lamar Tucker, when she dropped off the kids in Ocala on Saturday. He angrily took her keys and cell phone, but McNeil drove off using an extra pair of keys. By then, Tucker was angrily gripping the hood of her car.

McNeil said she stopped a couple times asking people for help and became afraid when he appeared to reach in his pocket, Ocala reports. Eventually she pulled out a gun stored in the car and shot Tucker, who fell to the road and was found by passing motorists. Only two days earlier, a judge had denied a domestic violence injunction McNeil sought against Tucker. So far McNeil isn't facing charges for shooting her ex, who had quite the rap sheet—including drug possession and fleeing a police officer, WOGX reports. (More shooting stories.)
