(Newser) – Yet another Obama Cabinet member is exiting stage left. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood tells the AP that he intends to step down as soon as a successor can be confirmed. The former Illinois congressman was the last remaining Republican in Obama's administration, though Defense Department nominee Chuck Hagel would fill that gap. Rumors of LaHood's departure have been swirling for months, but this is the first public confirmation of it. He says he doesn't intend to run for office again, reasoning that "you should go out while they're applauding."

Let the F##ker leave. Stomped all over the constitution. Wanna know where DUI checkpoints started, right F$$KING here. He gave states funds so the wouldn't have to spend local cash and with one swift move of the pen...increased the local tax base. I know some will flag my post with all kind of views but in my mind it comes down to Washington leveling a tax on the working poor of this nation. Those with resources can obtain legal assets to level the legal playing field. Those, the poor, have to abandon their jobs, no license, and consequently the family welfare to bow before the courts. I have been an employer for many years and I've seen so many poor families absolutely torn apart because they can't compete in the court room. The justice system in this country runs on the view that get them thru and those that fight, lets compromise. Let the F##ker go and throw a party because he's gone.

Is it normal for so many to leave after the first four years?
