Pro tip for celebrity publicists: If you try to get a website to remove "unflattering" pictures of your client, it won't end well. Case in point: Beyonce's rep contacted BuzzFeed after the site ran the 33 "fiercest" photos from her Super Bowl halftime show, complaining that some of the pictures were "unflattering" and asking for them to be replaced. "I am certain you will be able to find some better photos," wrote the publicist. Of course, rather than remove the photos from the original post, BuzzFeed just ran a second post with the email and the seven specific images the rep didn't like.
"In what world are these shots unflattering?" BuzzFeed wonders. Jezebel concurs: Sure, some of the shots show Beyonce with a weird facial expression or pose, but that's because she's a performer who was in the middle of an "incredibly strenuous" show, Lindy West writes. "I don't know about you guys, but the photos don't look 'unflattering' to me—they look like an epic badass doing the fuck out of her job. But you know. Bygones." Click to see the offending photos.
