No. 1 North Carolina matched its fastest start since 1997-98 with a 93-62 blowout of North Carolina State Saturday, reports the Associated Press. The Tar Heels are 17-0 after scoring 25 straight points in the first half against the Wolfpack. Deon Thompson and Ty Lawson led NC with 16 points each. In other Top 25 action:

  • Kentucky blew a 16-point lead in the second half, but Ramel Bradley hit a key jumper in double overtime to lift the Wildcats to a 79-73 upset of No. 13 Vanderbilt.
  • No. 11 Texas A&M rode 15 points by Dominique Kirk to its eighth straight win by at least 15 points with an 86-69 victory over Colorado.
