(Newser) – Andrew Sullivan thinks the strangest part of Pope Benedict's post-papal plans is that he will go on living with Georg Gaenswein, his longtime personal secretary at the Vatican, even as Gaenswein serves the new pope. "So Benedict’s handsome male companion will continue to live with him, while working for the other Pope during the day," writes Sullivan at his Dish blog. "Are we supposed to think that’s, well, a normal arrangement?"

Citing previous articles on the subject, Sullivan concludes that Gaenswein is "clearly in some kind of love with Ratzinger (and vice versa)" and says the arrangement smacks more of Melrose Place than the Vatican. Oh for God's sake!!! Really! Sullivan, and others, need to take their hands out of their pants and wash them, and their mouths, with soap !! One wonders what other boogie men these folks see elsewhere, or are the Baptist pastors, the Episcopal priests and on , invisible to the "Pervert police"? As a Catholic I am horrified and ashamed of the egregious behavior of some priests against children. Those men are not typically gay, but twisted sexual deviants...accusations in the news lately have yet to be proved. Could it be that this man is a true christian who holds the Pope in a fatherly role and is viewed as a son by Benedict? My heart say yes.

Awww, c'mon ... he wears a full length gown, an outlandish gold hat, ruby Prada kicks and walks nearly everywhere you see him holding hands with at least one guy in similar costume. He speaks a language that's been officially "dead" for a couple of thousand years talking about a man in the sky who knows and sees everything. ... and you think his LIVING arrangements are "strange?"
