Barack Obama is among those who aren't happy about the Nevada lawsuit challenging at-large caucuses set up to enable Las Vegas Strip shift workers to vote Saturday. Obama pointed the finger at Hillary Clinton's campaign for challenging the rules only after the Culinary Workers Union endorsed him. "The rules were OK when other campaigns thought they would win the Culinary endorsement," he said; when they didn't, “lawyers decided to get involved.”
The lawsuit was filed by the teachers union, which has Clinton ties—a connection Election Central called “curious.” Obama has argued the suit would disenfranchise minority voters. The effort “looks more and more like a miscalculation by the plaintiffs—and their backers—and a move that could unite the Culinary Union,” writes the Las Vegas Sun’s J. Patrick Coolican.
