(Newser) – Scott Weiland was confused when Stone Temple Pilots announced he'd been fired. "Not sure how I can be 'terminated' from a band I founded" was his response, according to the Week. But these seven other musicians experienced the same thing:

  • After just a year in Metallica, guitarist Dave Mustaine was kicked out over his addiction problems. The other band members broke the news by giving him a Greyhound bus ticket instead of a plane ticket to their next show. He went on to found Megadeth.

  • It was addiction that got Brian Jones expelled from the Rolling Stones as well. After too much partying, he was kicked out, and was found dead in his swimming pool a month later.
  • Apparently Glen Matlock liked the Beatles and Paul McCartney a little too much, and that's what got him booted from the Sex Pistols.

NO ONE GIVES A SHIT! Biggest entertainment story for many weeks and not a word on Newser- The second week of History Channel’s The Bible miniseries may not have delivered the ratings rapture of the last week’s record-breaking premiere, but the two-hour telecast still had holier-than-thou numbers. The Bible had 10.8 million total viewers Sunday night, down 18 percent from its premiere, with 3.2 million of those viewers adults 18-49. Next week, the mini could get a ratings boost by the addition of a new fan-favorite character — Jesus Christ joins the show once The Bible gets into the New Testament. Now please try to avoid posting any spoilers in the comments, we haven’t read the book and don’t want to know how this all turns out.

From the info provided, the individuals were "kicked out" due to self destructive behaviour. How does that classify as news?
