Can't picture anyone other than Whitney Houston singing "How Will I Know"? Well, Janet Jackson was offered the song first, reports Entertainment Tonight. Nine more songs that were originally intended for someone else:

  • Justin Timberlake's "Rock Your Body" was originally offered to Michael Jackson—as were a few other eventual JT hits.
  • "Don't Cha" (as in, "...wish your girlfriend was hot like me") is bad enough as performed by the Pussycat Dolls ... can you imagine if it had been performed by Paris Hilton? Well, it almost was.

  • Gloria Estefan wrote "Let's Get Loud" for herself, but gave it to Jennifer Lopez in the end.
  • And Lady Gaga wrote "Telephone" for Britney Spears, but ended up releasing it herself.
