Butler, Wizards Beat Celts Again

Posted Jan 14, 08 10:30 PM CST in Sports

(Newser) – Nobody can call Washington's win over Boston on Saturday a fluke after the Wizards did it again tonight to the Celtics, winning at the Garden, 88-83. Washington closed out the last six-plus minutes of the game on a 25-6 run while overcoming a 14-point fourth-quarter deficit, reports AP. Caron Butler had nine of his 21 points during the decisive stretch.

Boston guard Ray Allen had a chance to tie with just seconds remaining but his three-point attempt was well short. Despite shooting just 37% in two games, Washington was able to sweep the home-and-home set with Boston, thanks in part to solid defense against Kevin Garnett by Brendan Haywood, although KG still managed to finish with 23 points and nine rebounds on this night.
