(Newser) – The University of Central Florida cancelled morning classes and evacuated roughly 500 students from a dorm today after police found explosive devices while investigating an apparent suicide on campus; a rep for the school says the dead male was a student at the university. Police were called to the campus' Tower 1 at 12:20am today when a fire alarm went off, and received a call about a man with a gun while en route, the AP reports.

They found a man dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, along with an assault weapon, a handgun, and explosives. The body was found in one of the dorm's suites, which is comprised of a kitchen/living area and four bedrooms. "Obviously you never want somebody to commit suicide, but knowing what we know about what was in his room, we feel better at least that no one else was hurt," says the rep, who noted the dead man had three roommates. Classes resume at noon.

Where in the heck is the ATF mentioned here? But, no...we found all these assault weapons, explosives etc....and then Officer Barney Fife subdued the firepower and reopened the University. Has campus police forces resorted to hiring ex-Blackwater employees? Is that why they knew it was safe? This article is pretty messed up in some senses. I'm confused. They don't even mention if they took the suite mates into custody for questioning. WTF? I'm sure the roommates were pretty content knowing that the guy they partied with on St. Patty's day was going to blast some shit up.

"but knowing what we know about what was in his room, we feel better at least that no one else was hurt " Exactly.....unlike those cowards, Adam Lanza, and James Holmes who had to kill innocent men, women and children  It's good this person committed suicide instead
