(Newser) – Yesterday was the 44th anniversary of Yoko Ono's marriage to John Lennon, and she marked the occasion by offering a personal—and graphic—statement on the gun-control debate: She tweeted a photo of Lennon's bloodstained glasses. "Over 1,057,000 people have been killed by guns in the USA since John Lennon was shot and killed on December 8, 1980," reads the text accompanying the image, which she rapidly tweeted a total of four times. "We are turning this beautiful country into a war zone," she wrote. "After 33 years our son Sean and I still miss him." The photo was also used on a 1981 album cover, notes the Telegraph.

It amazes me how Yoko can forgive the killer but not the weapon!

The band was ready for a break up. There was not enough room on an album to put all the songs those guys were creating on their own.  So enter John and Yoko.  Bad timing as far as public opinion but perfect timing for John. It could not have been anyone other than Yoko. She was perfect. The roll was made for her. Just as radical or more so than John. So she sings like chalk on a black board,  so what. He loved her. It's long over due to stop blaming Yoko for the bands breakup.

You broke up the band Yoko. And, the one thing in common with Lennon's killer and other murderers is that they are all crazy. Guns don't kill people, crazy people do.   Work on crazy people before you call for my rights to be inhibited.
