(Newser) – The parents of a young Pennsylvania girl who was sexually molested by their neighbor have sued the man in a bid to force him to buy their house. Sixty-five-year-old Oliver Beck pleaded guilty in September 2011 to indecent assault of a child under 13. After getting out of prison, he moved back to his home near Emmaus, about 55 miles north of Philadelphia.

The child's parents say they don't want to live next to Beck. Their lawsuit says that because Beck is a registered sex offender, their house is now "virtually unmarketable." The suit demands that Beck buy their house from them for $350,000. Beck's lawyer has filed court papers seeking dismissal of the suit, saying the law does not entitle the plaintiffs to the relief they're seeking.

There was a story not long ago about a town installing mini-parks near every transit stop. In their jurisdiction perps had to keep a 1/4 mile or so away. Every time they built a park, the creeps were forced to move-by law. They might get a daycare License and home-school.

Unfortunately, good people often have to pay the price for the crimes committed by scum.

I saw this real estate thing happen to a friend of mine years ago. He bought a house that had been owned by a woman who ran a daycare, and her son was arrested for molesting the kids there. Even after my friend fixed it up, painted, landscaped, etc., he ended up taking a huge loss after having it on the market for almost a year. He was required by law to disclose the incidents that might effect the value, which he didn't get when he bought it at foreclosure...go figure! btw, even though the molester was already in prison, my friend found sex toys, condoms, naked barbie dolls and porn magazines hidden above the drop ceiling in the rec room. eeeww. He just took a wheelbarrow full, put the stuff in a hefty bag and took it to the dump with other trash he was cleaning out, (wearing thick rubber gloves!) incidentally, great search by the cops, a few years earlier!
