After an appalling 43-36 loss to Iowa on Saturday, no. 11 Michigan State came back strong against Ohio State for a 66-60 victory. Drew Neitzel had 13 points, eight after intermission, and the Spartans led by as many as 21, one game after being held to their lowest point total in over 50 years. Also in college basketball:

  • Notre Dame, too, bounced back from an ugly loss, routing Cincinnati 91-74 after losing to Marquette by 26 points.
  • Terrence Oglesby stayed hot from long distance, hitting four three-pointers to lead no. 24 Clemson past North Carolina State, 70-54.
