(Newser) – Heidi Klum became the latest star-turned-superhero when she helped to pull her son and his nannies from a riptide. ETOnline rounds up nine more celebs who've saved the day:

  • Harrison Ford is good at finding lost hikers. In 2001, he joined a search party and found a missing Boy Scout; earlier that year, he collected a hiker who couldn't get down a mountain ... in his helicopter.
  • On their way back from a soccer game in Utah, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes saw two accident victims on the side of the road. The celebs called 911 and waited with them until help arrived.

  • Gwyneth Paltrow managed to save someone's life ... by almost running her down. On September 11, 2001, Paltrow almost hit a woman with her SUV in New York. The near-collision led to the woman missing her train, so she was not at her job in the World Trade Center when it fell.
  • Kate Winslet saved Richard Branson's mother when the Virgin mogul's Caribbean mansion caught on fire.

"Gwyneth Paltrow managed to save someone's life ... by almost running her down."s Great, for now on I'll try my best to run down any pedestrians walking across my car's path because you never know when a plane will crash into their work place and kill them.
