(Newser) – At least 11 civilians have been killed in a NATO airstrike yesterday in eastern Afghanistan, reports the AP. The number of dead ranges widely, but a local official in Kunar province says that they include at least 10 children and one woman. Their deaths occurred yesterday when the airstrike destroyed a house during a fierce firefight between the Taliban and US and Afghan forces. A US civilian adviser was also killed in the fighting.
