Welcome to Miami: New Coach Inks $11M Deal

Posted Jan 17, 08 12:26 AM CST in Sports

(Newser) – Miami's coaching hire Tony Sparano signed a 4-year deal worth almost $11 million with his new team, then told the press he wouldn't make any predictions regarding their performance under his administration. "There are no promises, there are no commitments, there are none of those things right now. That's not what I do," said Sparano.

The former Cowboys offensive line coach will be the fifth head coach for the Dolphins in the last five years - and the first hired by Bill Parcells - but Sparano dismissed the team's recent history, confiding, "I don't really care what happened in the past." Cornerback Will Allen expressed relief at the decision: "I'm just excited to get moving. That's it."
