(Newser) – The Israeli military says it has shot down an unmanned aircraft sent by Hezbollah into Israeli skies. Military officials said the aircraft was downed today off the Israeli coast in Israeli airspace near the northern city of Haifa. It is the second known instance in which the Lebanese militant group, a bitter Israeli enemy, has sent a drone into Israeli airspace. Last October, the Israeli air force shot down an unmanned aircraft in a similar incident.

Iran has to test its own drones, and has to see how good Israeli air defenses are. Of course Hezbollah, or at least Iranian agents in the region launched it. I doubt it was the US or any western country. In fact everyone is testing their drones that way, testing the air defenses of adversaries.
