Once-forlorn Cleveland State stifled No. 12 Butler 56-52 for the program's second-ever win against a top 25 team. The cold-shooting Bulldogs bricked a bevy of three-pointers at the end of regulation; their leading scorer had just 12. The Vikings, who went 10-21 just a year ago, improved to 13-5. Also in college hoops:

  • Louisville suffocated No. 13 Marquette, who shot an uncharacteristically horrible 0 for 12 from behind the arc in the 71-51 romp.
  • Wayne Chism had 18 points and 18 boards to match in No. 6 Tennessee's 80-60 drubbing of No. 16 Vanderbilt.
