(Newser) – As Facebook announced its earnings yesterday, a small crowd of protesters gathered outside its headquarters, wearing hazmat suits and chanting things like, "Keystone, take a hike. Facebook dislike." It was the latest sign of the backlash the company is facing over Mark Zuckerberg's new political organization,, which the LA Times reports has hit a nerve among progressives. Environmental groups are accusing the group of promoting things like the Keystone XL pipeline and drilling in ANWR.

The main thrust of is in fact immigration reform, and it's backing Republicans who do the same—including touting their conservative bonafides. But activists aren't buying that distinction. "Mark Zuckerberg can't have it both ways. He can't be for Keystone XL and for clean energy at the same time," says the political director at Credo Mobile. "Zuckerberg and Facebook need to choose." The group tried placing an ad on Facebook decrying the ads. Facebook rejected it, because it used an image of Zuckerberg's face without permission, the Washington Post reports.
