No. 9 Indiana Holds Off Minnesota

D.J. White scored 17 points and had 10 rebounds as No. 9 Indiana beat Minnesota 65-60 Thursday, denying Gophers coach Tubby Smith his 400th NCAA win, reports the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Lance Stemler also hit a clutch 3-pointer for Indiana (15-1, 4-0 in Big Ten). Minnesota (12-4, 2-2) led with 6:50 to go before the Hoosiers grabbed it for good. In other Top 25 action:

  • Saint Louis, which only scored 20 points in a loss to George Washington last week, got 22 points from Tommy Liddell to beat No. 23 Rhode Island, 68-61 in an Atlantic 10 game.
  • No. 8 Washington State bounced back from its only loss of season as Aron Baynes scored 17 points in a 69-46 Pac-10 win over Oregon State.
