It doesn't get much more convoluted than this: Officials removed Charlie Sheen's twin sons from the home of their mother, Brooke Mueller, and awarded temporary custody ... to Denise Richards, Sheen's other famous ex-wife, a source tells Radar. "Social workers felt that Bob and Max weren’t safe in Brooke’s care" thanks to her drug use, the source says. Richards cared for the twins, Bob and Max, last year while Mueller was in rehab. "She loves the boys, and their safety and well-being mean everything to her," the source says.
Richards' rep confirms to E! that the actress does have temporary custody of the boys. Why didn't Sheen get custody? Here's how E!'s source puts it: "The boys have spent so much time with Denise that it was the logical choice." Here's how TMZ puts it: "It's unclear why Charlie was not given temporary custody of the kids—but let's get serious, even Sheen knows they're in better hands with Denise."
