Less dazzling was the performance of the Tyler Perry-backed Peeples, which had an opening weekend of only $4.9 million, putting it in the No. 4 position. Rounding out the top 5: Pain and Gain at No. 3 ($41.6 million) and 42 at No. 5 ($4.7 million).
