A reminder to parents that it's sometimes wise to exercise veto power over the kids' ideas: A couple has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child after motorists on the Pennsylvania Turnpike saw them tooling along in a pickup truck with a young girl in the back—inside a dog cage, reports the Pittsburgh Tribune. In fact, the 10-year-old was sharing quarters with a small dog. When police finally caught up with the truck in Millvale, driver Thomas Fishinger explained that the girl asked to ride with the pooch. He and the girl's mother were charged. (More child endangerment stories.)
