(Newser) – Oklahoma continues to be hammered with bad weather, as up to a dozen tornadoes hit the ground there and in and Arkansas yesterday, killing one and injuring nine. All injuries were in Arkansas, where one man died when a tree blew into the car he was driving, reports the AP. Near Tulsa, a tornado caused only small amounts of damage to roofs of buildings—nothing like last week's twister that flattened the suburb of Moore, killing 24. The bad news: The bad weather was expected to continue today.

Iowa stayed out of the twisters' paths but was hit with severe thunderstorms that broke windows, blew down trees, and damaged buildings. Meanwhile, flooding wreaked havoc in Kansas, where police rescued people from 16 vehicles in just 90 minutes as torrential rain washed through the area, CNN reports. This weekend's forecast isn't looking to improve much. Severe weather could hit parts of Oklahoma, Nebraska, Arkansas, and Missouri today, and in seven Northeast states on Sunday.
