Male Train Drivers Protest Shorts Ban—With Skirts

There's a skin-baring revolt under way in Sweden, where the Roslagsbanan train line has banned drivers and conductors from wearing shorts—and a dozen of the aforementioned employees responded by donning skirts this week. As the AP reports, about a dozen men showed up for work in skirts to protest the dress code, and one driver says that commuters have been nothing but supportive of the somewhat eyebrow-raising move. A company spokesman says that while staffers must look "nice and proper," they can't discriminate against employees who wear women's clothes. But perhaps unsurprisingly, he didn't rule out a change to the dress code. (More Sweden stories.)
