(Newser) – Something weird is in the mushrooms in Michigan's Ypsilanti Township: Police say a man ripped off part of his own penis, almost killing himself through blood loss, after taking hallucinogenic mushrooms. Cops found the naked, screaming man outside a school after responding to a late-night burglar alarm, the Detroit Free Press reports.

"He really wasn’t saying much at all—a lot of yelling and screaming," a police spokesman says. "He wasn’t making sense. They couldn’t really communicate with him in terms of constructive conversation." The man, a native of Columbus, Ohio, was nearly dead by the time they got him to the hospital. Police say he has no history of mental illness or extensive drug use and blood tests will be carried out to see if the mushrooms were laced with anything.

I tried really hard to feel sorry for this guy. Yeah wasn't happening. You reap what you sow. Or in this case what you force your body to eat. The fact that so many people like this exist is enough to make you want to pull your hair out. I mean is intelligence really in such short supply? Our gene pool of common sense and IQ is rapidly dwindling in this country.

Sigh.... It's all fun and games until somebody loses part of a dick. This is really sad, but if it keeps him from reproducing......

I hate to see anyone hurt, for ANY reason. However, maybe his actions has effectively removed this moron from the gene-pool. One can hope.
