Wiz Conjure Rare Season Sweep of Mavs

(Newser) – For the first time in eleven years, Washington swept their series with Dallas with a 102-84 win—the Mavericks' worst loss of the season. It was just one more in a litany of impressive wins for the Gilbert Arenas-free Wizards, who have also beaten the NBA-leading Celtics twice in their last six games. Also in pro hoops:

  • In a rematch of Friday's game against the Clippers, little changed; the Jazz again had seven players score in double digits and won, 109-93.
  • The SuperSonics remain winless in 2008 after losing a surprisingly close 96-89 game to the Rockets, who got 30 and 17 from Yao Ming.

    Orlando clinched a postseason spot with a 122-111 victory over Indiana, despite 22 turnovers that led to 25 Pacers points. Hedo Turkoglu shot 13-for-23 for a game-high 27 points, with Rashard Lewis adding 22 and Mo Evans pitching in 19.
