(NEWSER) - It’s Regis Philbin's last day on Live! with Regis and Kelly. He kicked off his farewell last night with a visit to David Letterman’s show (highlights in the gallery) and continued with an hour-long goodbye tribute this morning. Who will Kelly Ripa get to cozy up to next? TV Guide offers up a list of eight possible replacements. A sampling:

• Mark Consuelos: First of all, he’s Ripa’s husband. He has also already filled in for Regis, and has hosted his own show. But maybe it's too cutesy a pairing?

Comedian is first guest host on 'Live!'

(NEWSER) - Jerry Seinfeld is the new Regis … at least for a few days. Regis Philbin departs from his hosting gig on Live! on Nov. 18, and Seinfeld will join co-host Kelly Ripa from Nov. 21 to Nov. 23, the Christian Science Monitor reports. Seinfeld, the first scheduled guest host, will interview Jason Segel, Kim Cattrall, Howie Mandel, Jamie Oliver, and—perhaps the most exciting of all—Miss Piggy. More»

Now at Christie's; may fetch $11K

(NEWSER) - Looks like the stars were aligned for Ringo. A 1960 letter written by Paul McCartney sought a drummer for the Beatles two years before Starr joined the Fab Four. The note was discovered folded into a book at a Liverpool yard sale, the AP reports. It was a response to an ad placed by a drummer looking for a band. In the missive, McCartney offered the drummer—whose identity remains unknown—an audition. More»

Philbins looking to part with home listed at $3.8 M

(AP) - It appears retiring from his TV show may have inspired Regis Philbin to downsize. The Reeg and his wife, Joy, are trying to sell one of the two homes they own in Greenwich, Conn. The house on Meeting House Road has nearly 6,000 square feet, four bedrooms and eight bathrooms. It sits on 6 acres near Mianus River State Park and also includes a pool, tennis court, and gazebo. It is listed for $3.8 million with Sotheby's International Realty, but was listed for $5.9 million back in 2008. More»

Retiring talk show host calls book a 'thank-you' to fans

(AP) - Regis Philbin may be exiting the talk show world , but before he (finally) goes, he's leaving his fans with a "personal thank-you" in the form of a memoir, due this fall. Though currently untitled, the book will reflect on his decades-long television career and include stories about Live! With Regis and Kelly co-host Kelly Ripa, her predecessor Kathie Lee Gifford, and such celebrities as Jack Nicholson, George Clooney, and Jerry Seinfeld, according to the publisher. More»
