'Regis' Hits Sour Note With Ringo

Regis found out today that Ringo has a tough streak. Ringo Starr opted out of an appearance on "Live With Regis and Kelly" rather than cut his song short, the AP reports. On the set to promote his new album, Starr learned belatedly he would have to chop the title song of his new album, Liverpool 8, nearly in half. Instead, he walked.

“We offered to cut back our chat time," said his publicist. "They were not willing to do that, so without a compromise we were not able to stay." Starr pruned the tune for David Letterman's show, but Regis' producer wanted it even shorter. The legendary drummer isn't holding a grudge, though. "Ringo left saying, God bless and goodbye. We still love Regis,'" said the publicist. (More Ringo Starr stories.)
