(Newser) – The FBI has thrown the brakes on a plan to return George Zimmerman's gun, asking Florida authorities to hold on to all evidence until it completes its civil rights investigation. "They have an investigation they are conducting," a Sanford police official tells USA Today. "Until that hold is lifted, the evidence will remain secured."

The courts released the trial's evidence, which also included things like Trayvon Martin's hoodie and the bag of Skittles he was carrying, to police earlier this week, the Orlando Sentinel reports; the items are now being held in a secure area. The hold clearly indicates that the Justice Department's investigation is active, notes the Sentinel; the probe began a year ago, but up until the end of the criminal trial, the DOJ had been relatively quiet on the subject.

Just came back from the Trayvon rally in Atlanta. Funny, no rioting. Just thousands of peaceful protesters calling for change. http://www.myfoxatlanta.com/story/22891597/large-crowds-attend-trayvon-martin-rally-in-atlanta

Yeah, he'll get another gun. Fat boy can't fight a fair fight. But one of these days that temper of his will either get him killed by someone faster on the draw or seriously maimed by picking on the wrong person. The jerk is a loose canon.

I was thinking that the Gun should be displayed in the Blacks that are History Museum that Oprah is building. Along with Michael Jackson's Syringe, Whitney Houston's Crackpipe, and Rodney King's Swimming Pool. Well, maybe just a picture of the Swimming Pool will due.
