The Conjuring unseated three-week box office champ Despicable Me this weekend, with the horror flick pulling in $41.5 million in its debut while the latter claimed the No. 2 spot with $25 million. Turbo took third with $21.5 million. Grown Ups 2 and Red 2 rounded out the No. 4 and 5 spots, with $20 million and $18.5 million, respectively. The AP notes that RIPD, starring Jeff Bridges and Ryan Reynolds, had a not-so-spectacular debut with $12.76 million. (More Despicable Me stories.)
