Chris Osgood turned around the performance that got him yanked last week as Detroit's starting goalie, this time making 27 saves in a perfect performance against the Kings. "They have a pretty good team on paper," Osgood diplomatically said of Los Angeles, but the NHL's worst team couldn't avoid a 3-0 loss, reports the Detroit Free Press. Meanwhile, in San Jose:

The Sharks fended off Chicago to snap their longest winless streak so far this season at four. The 3-2 game also broke the Blackhawks' current streak of four wins, and put a dent in Chicago goalie Patrick Lalime's .962 recent save percentage. Sharks coach Ron Wilson had promised that his team wouldn't be shaking things up, and this time it worked. (More NHL stories.)
