After Ryan Braun received a suspension for his involvement in the Biogenesis clinic PED scandal, things are looking bleak for Yankee Alex Rodriguez. A-Rod's punishment could be far worse than Braun's, according to CBS New York: A baseball insider says he may face a lifetime ban. Indeed, sources tell ESPN the evidence against Rodriguez is "far beyond" what was in the Braun file. The third baseman is reportedly "trying to make a deal" with Major League Baseball officials, a source tells ESPN, which notes the Yankee could face more trouble because the MLB thinks he interfered with the investigation.

Braun's suspension for the rest of the season, announced Monday, was reportedly the result of a deal he made with the league. ESPN reports that the remaining suspensions are expected to be revealed at the same time; the Yankees' GM says the team has gotten no indication of when any announcement may come. Meanwhile, teammates are sticking up for A-Rod. "He's my brother. I'm not saying he did or didn't do it, but if it happens, I can't throw him in the street," says Mariano Rivera.
