(Newser) – Everyone complains about their fellow drivers, but which city in the US truly has the worst ones? Miami, by a mile, according to an analysis in Slate that rounds up metrics including accidents, fatalities, drunk driving, and pedestrian strikes. The worst offenders:

  1. Miami: "Not even close," writes Brian Palmer, thanks in part to its No. 1 rankings in fatalities and in accidents involving pedestrians.
  2. Philadelphia: It's No. 2 in collisions and pedestrian strikes.
  3. Hialeah: The Florida city doesn't have a ton of accidents, but it still ranks third in fatalities, hurting its overall score.

I do love Vegas. Angry cab drivers honking at people on the strip who won't get out of the way so they can pull into a casino entrance. Then there's Nawlins. Mostly Sunni drivers with one cell phone bud in one ear, and a bud for a different phone in the other ear. The whole time they are talking on it. The driver's window is open and they drive with the right hand and constantly gesture with their fist or middle finger with the left hand. Now Los Angeles does get an honorable mention. Was on Rodeo Drive with a rental car at a red light. The opposing flow finally stops and I see this guy in a convertible reach behind his seat and grab a guitar and starts to play it while his light is red. I decided to pull over to watch him a bit and catch some video. When his light turns green he keeps playing as he goes on down the street. But my home town 15 years ago deserves some kind of notice. A mom helps the son deliver papers. So she stacks them on the hood and proceeds to drive him up and down the block as he sits on the roof tossing papers into people's yards. Here's your sign......
