Alec and Kim Play Hardball Over Ireland

Posted Apr 27, 07 8:23 AM CDT in Arts & Living    Editor's Choice

(Newser) – Not since the Easter Rising has there been this much fighting over Ireland—that is, the 11-year old daughter of Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger. With Baldwin appearing on "The View" this morning to apologize to Ireland for the furious voicemail leaked last week, the LA Times revisits the gory custody battle.

Basinger accuses her ex of being prone to "rage episodes"—a claim bolstered by the voicemail in which Baldwin called his daughter a "rude, thoughtless little pig." Baldwin, now a self-styled fathers' rights activist, says Basinger forced him to get a court order to take Ireland to "The Cat in the Hat."
