Frosh scores 17, grabs six boards as Tigers blow out Tennessee-Martin

(NEWSER) - Memphis Tigers super-freshman Derrick Rose had an immediate impact in his team’s opener, a 102-71 dismantling of Tennessee-Martin. Rose had 17 points, six rebounds and five assists for No. 3 Memphis in the 2K Sports College Hoops Classic. Dozier's initial results were invalidated

(NEWSER) - Another former University of Memphis player has a dodgy-looking SAT score in his past, ESPN reports. Robert Dozier was originally set to go to Georgia, until the school noticed that he’d scored a 1260 on his SAT, a score drastically better than his practice exams. The NCAA Initial-Eligibility Clearinghouse then got an anonymous letter saying someone else may have taken the test for Dozier. More»

(NEWSER) - Despite a lack of surprises on the court, the first day of March Madness saw a huge jump in visits to the CBS website as well as a bump in TV ratings, the Business Insider reports. The 2.7 million viewers of streaming video online represented a 56% increase over last year, and each visitor watched about an hour of content. On the broadcast end, ratings rose 9% over 2008. More»
