Nearly 20 years after hitting theaters, the 1994 cult film Reality Bites may be getting a small screen revival. Ben Stiller, who directed the movie, and Helen Childress, who wrote it, have teamed up to bring the story to primetime for a single-camera comedy to be aired on NBC, Deadline reports. Lelaina Pierce, originally played by Winona Ryder, will struggle with work and love in Houston in the early 1990s, with her "slacker" friends along for the ride. And though Esther Zuckerman at the Atlantic Wire thinks it may be a tough sell, she admits the "kitschy 'ha, look how weird people 20 years ago were' enterprise" might just be the next That 70s' Show.
