(Newser) – Well, this bit of Man of Steel casting news is likely to be better received than the last one. In a report from Cosmic Book News earlier this week just picked up by Rolling Stone, sources say Bryan Cranston of Breaking Bad will play Lex Luthor. Cranston is set to make at least six appearances in movies set in the DC Comics universe. (Ben Affleck, who will play Batman in these same films, is said to have a disturbingly high 13-appearance deal.) The official announcement isn't supposed to happen until Breaking Bad concludes.

Hey Batman, never mind the Kryptonite, watch out for the ricin and the exploding wheelchairs!
