(Newser) – Sisters, there were never such bickering sisters: Dick Cheney's daughters are going mano a mano over the issue of gay marriage, with Mary Cheney—who is gay and married longtime partner Heather Poe last year—now responding to sister Liz's stance against it. “For the record, I love my sister, but she is dead wrong on the issue of marriage," she posted on Facebook. "That means that all families—regardless of how they look or how they are made—all families are entitled to the same rights, privileges, and protections as every other." Mary Cheney and Poe have two children.

"Freedom means freedom for everyone," she wrote, in what the New York Times notes is similar verbiage to dear old dad's support of gay marriage. Things haven't exactly been going swimmingly for Liz Cheney's Wyoming Senate campaign.

Clearly she is lacking something. I don't think she is against her sister necessarily, but just a shallow person. She has moved to a state she has no business representing, just to get her foot in a political door. And now she'll spout off anything they want to hear that will get her elected, regardless of how it makes those close to her feel, or the damage it can do publically to them. The fact that Dick Cheney, viewed by the left as a monster, and by the typically homo-phobic right as some sort of demi-god (both extreme examples, I know), but that he is accepting publically of his daughter's lifestyle says more about the monstrosity that is Liz than it says about anyone else. When Dick Cheney is viewed as having more compassion than you, clearly things are not going on the right path for you.
