(Newser) – This year's official song of the summer as ranked by the Billboard charts doesn't require much of a drum roll: It's Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines," which thoroughly dominated those charts from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Here are the top five:

  1. Robin Thicke, "Blurred Lines"
  2. Imagine Dragons, "Radioactive"
  3. Daft Punk, "Get Lucky"
  4. Miley Cyrus, "We Can't Stop"
  5. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, "Can't Hold Us"

I heard a news story about Marvin Gaye's family wanting to sue Robin Thicke because they claim he stole Marvin's style of singing (or something like that). Sounds to me like some guys were ad libbing during an informal set and one thing led to another... and they wound up with a song that is boil'n. Now, I loved Marvin and do not want to take anything away from him; he was someone viewed as ahead of his times. But I think Robin's got this one hands down.

I hate to go all Ramrodd but that auburn haired girl in the Thicke clip is ultra gorgeous.

I am no longer concerned about Miley, but of the young people of this nation, who seem to idolize her.
