(Newser) – What started as an ugly incident on the field could turn into a day in court. The incident, which took place during a Pennsylvania high school football game last week, began when one player removed another’s helmet and beat him with it. Now police are considering criminal charges.

I think it's time that we stop treating high school students like they are still children. Teens have become so violent in our country that a large part of everyday crime is committed by them. The laws protecting juveniles from being charged as adults is archaic, and needs to be changed. I'm sick of violent offenders expecting lighter sentences because they were just a kid who didn't know any better.
