(Newser) – A new Government Accountability Office report found the Social Security Administration doled out more money in disability benefits than it should have—and the cost might surprise you. The GAO says between December 2010 and January 2013, Social Security paid roughly $1.3 billion in disability benefits to more than 36,000 people who didn’t qualify for them.

This administration encourages citizens to feed off the teet of the government, it's one way to control the people. Half the people are lazy and would rather someone else support them.

This doesn't surprise me at all.I have known a number of people who received Social Security payments who 1. have never worked or contributed to the fund 2.just won't work or even look for a job 3.are whores and or drug addicts or drunks or excons who should never have received payments. The fact that a person is a drug addict shouldn't allow them to get disability payments. This is where the Nazis had it right: liquidate the dregs of society and get them off the taxpayers' backs.

No surprise here. Our government cannot find enough ways to throw away money. The government even encourages food stamp (SNAP) participation. Obama has no desire or intention to EVER balance the budget.
