Surging Rutgers Stuns No. 13 Pittsburgh

(Newser) – Corey Chandler scored 18 points and Mike Coburn had 17 to lead Rutgers to a 77-64 Big East upset of No. 13 Pittsburgh today, reports the Associated Press. The Scarlet Knights (10-11, 2-6) beat No. 18 Villanova Wednesday. Pitt (16-4, 4-3), which was 11-0 at home coming in, was led by Gilbert Brown's 16 points. In other Top 25 action:

  • Charles Rhodes scored 26 points to lead Mississippi State (14-5, 5-0) past No. 17 Mississippi (15-3, 2-3) 88-68 in a Southeastern Conference rivalry game.
  • Richmond (10-8, 3-2) shot 61.5% from the field in the first half and cruised to an 80-63 Atlantic 10 win over No. 16 Dayton (14-4, 2-3).
