(Newser) – The father of a New York City boy who died on a field trip in June got a reminder of his loss when the school called—to ask why the boy wasn’t in class. Jean Fritz Pierre, 16, drowned while on a class trip to a state park, and his father, Jonas Pierre, has filed two $5 million lawsuits against the city. But that didn't stop a school staffer from calling about the boy's attendance record. The state Education Department has since apologized.

I have two comments. First One: This school does not seem capable of the important responsiblility of education. You have to have an IQ above the room temperature. Second Comment: The Democrats have had a controling say over our school systems in most juridictions for the last several decades. I do not see much sucess - can anyone tell me why that is? And don't blame George Bush. Progressive BS Liberal Teachers and Left Leaning Social Agendas have NO PLACE in the school system.

One more dreary example of the soul destroying factory of public education.
