(Newser) Meet the Spartans outfought Rambo to claim top spot this weekend as both flicks knocked down last week's openers, Variety reports. Spartans, a 300 spoof, banked $18.7 million while Sly Stallone's pic scored $18.2 million. 27 Dresses crumpled to third with $13.6 million as horror pic Cloverfield toppled to fourth at $12.7 million, a crushing 68% fall from last week's number one spot.

Oscar-nominated films Juno, There Will Be Blood, and Michael Clayton saw ticket sale spikes this weekend; the Coen Brothers' No Country for Old Men jumped a whopping 106%, grossing $2.5 million to push the film above $50 million. Only Atonement sunk after the Oscar noms, falling 14% with $4 million, which upped its total to $37.9 million.
