Hedo Hits the Winner as Magic Beats Boston

Posted Jan 27, 08 7:48 PM CST in Sports

(Newser) – Orlando won a clash of division leaders today, 96-93 over Boston, on a buzzer-beating three-pointer by Hedo Turkoglu. The Magic managed to blow a 16-point lead in the fourth quarter but went back ahead on two buckets by Rashard Lewis. With injured Celtic Kevin Garnett sitting out, Dwight Howard was strong inside with 18 points, 16 rebounds. Elsewhere in hoops:

  • Phoenix got some rare 'D,' holding the shorthanded Bulls to 35% shooting and going ahead for good by shutting out Chicago for four minutes. Amare Stoudemire led the Suns with 24 points.
  • Cleveland's LeBron James was the biggest star in LA, scoring 41 and outdueling the Lakers' Kobe Bryant who missed a go-ahead layup late. Cavs win 98-95.
