Now seven bikers have been charged in the beating of an SUV driver in New York, and there could be more charges to come; meanwhile, one of the bikers, Robert Sims, has been indicted. CNN offers a detailed account of the attack: The motorcyclists "were driving recklessly," says a prosecutor. Biker Christopher Cruz suddenly slowed in front of Alexian Lien's SUV, and Lien bumped into him, causing a minor injury. When Lien stopped, bikers surrounded and began hitting the car.

Lien then drove off again, hitting three other bikers in the process. Edwin Mieses will likely never walk again, his wife says. Motorcyclists chased Lien and eventually pulled him out of his car and attacked him; his injuries included cuts on his face and side and abrasions on his back and hand. The latest biker to be charged, James Kuehne, 31, pleaded not guilty and is out on a $200,000 bond. An undercover NYPD detective also is accused. (More Alexian Lien stories.)
